Meet the Staff
Pastor Randy Starr and his wife, Shirley were born and raised in Ohio and graduated from Montpelier High School. Both received Christ as children. Pastor Starr graduated from Bowling Green State University in BG, OH with a Bachelor's Degree and later from Bob Jones University with a Master's Degree. Shirley and Randy married in 1972. God called him to preach on the first day of 1973. After over fourteen years as a full-time Assistant Pastor at Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde Ohio, Pastor Starr moved to Brogue in December, 1990 to become Mt Zion's 6th Pastor. Shirley graduated in 1972 from Nursing School at Toledo Ohio as an RN. She teaches women's classes in the church and the Mt Zion Baptist School of Theology. The Starrs have three children and three grandchildren, all of which are a delight to their life. The Starrs have written several books and together, they have written materials that have been used in Christian Schools since 1988. Their books are in 38 states and some foreign countries. Pastor Chris Starr grew up in Northwest Ohio and graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College with a Bachelor degree in Pastoral Studies and a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies. He has served as the Assistant Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church since June, 1999. Currently he serves as youth pastor, home school co-op coordinator, summer Camp Director, and Dean of the School of Theology. He also leads a weekly Bible Club at the Red Lion Area Senior High School.Jenny Starr grew up in Southwest Michigan and graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College with a degree in Elementary Education. She serves alongside her husband, sings and plays her viola in the music ministry, aids as a part-time secretary in the office along with raising their 3 children. |

Pastor Bill Hardecker was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines. In 1993, he trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour and surrendered to God's call to the ministry. He attended Fairhaven Baptist College and graduated with a B.A. in Missions and a M.A. in Bible. Pastor Bill joined the staff at Mt. Zion in June of 2004 and became the Associate Pastor. He serves the Lord as the missions and choir director, children's ministry leader, and preaches in the prison ministry. He also enjoys teaching Bible studies at the Delta Senior Center once a month and at the Red Lion Area Junior High School weekly.Marcia Hardecker was born in Ohio and raised in Red Lion, Pennsylvania. At about 8 years old, Marcia saw her need for Christ to come into her heart. Upon graduating from high school in May 1999, she attended Fairhaven Baptist College and graduated in May 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education. Marcia enjoys teaching private music lessons and working part-time as one of the church secretaries. She also enjoys serving in the music ministry and teaching children in various aspects, as well as, participating in soul-winning endeavors. |
